![]() The app itself is very good UI design, rock stable, fast… Seems there is (was) lots of talent at Microsoft – the developer worked 10 years for MS – it says quite a lot about MS management, if they are not able to keep such good developers (and those devs go afterwards mac only development :-) If you don't like the app's icon, just replace it with a clipart of your choice. There's one thing I'd like to add: for those who don't like the appearance of the app, it can be customised: in the Preferences, just switch from "fun" to "serious" window layout, and it looks much more like your common mac app. OK, reading the other comments/reviews, this isn't news: Growly Notes is a great app. But I find Growly Notes the most capable for general purpose notes because it is easy to apply formats and one can drag and drop both text and objects with ease. I use Sidenote for hot short-term items (it is opened by mousing over to the side of the screen), and TextWrangler for coding. I use Evernote because it can automatically sync with File-This-Fetch for managing financial records. Incidentally, though this is my primary notes app, I DO use other note-taking apps as well for special purposes. But, I have looked hard in the past and I really like this app. If there were a freeware app that came close to doing all this app does, I would not have upgraded. Mostly this meant reading several sections of the extremely well-written docs as opposed to either scanning or ignoring them which is what I usually am able to do. The ways of handling formats (e.g., bullet lists, fonts, highlights, special symbols, indentation, ruler, styles) has changed from ver 1. The developer clearly put a lot of thought into every aspect of this.įor me there was a learning curve to understand all the capabilities that can be accessed via the tabbed sidebar. Growly Notes ver 2 is no longer free but is actually much better. They have been a vital resource for me.Growly Notes ver 1 was the best note-taking app I had found, and I tried many of them. If you want to take your writing skills to the next level I strongly recommend checking these two resources out. Here is a video review and introduction to one note from You Tube Here is a video review and introduction to Growly note from You Tube ![]() These resources will save you time and also help you with your writing resources. In a world where content is king and the new sales copy you cannot afford to be blogging, writing content and building credibility. Now I started working on my chapters of my book and it allows me to write on different ideas and sort them accordingly. I started off using Growly notes for my blogging calendar and ended up writing all my blog posts on it. The two resources offer Organization of your data that can be sorted by different sections to your customization. Microsoft One Note offers the same features where you can collect data, clippings, drawings and audio commentaries and share them with Multi users and works with Windows. Growly Notes is a note taking application that can gather all kinds of data, text and images and is organized into sections and pages and works with a Mac. ![]() I also have plans to attempt to publish my first book some time next year. These two applications have changed my writing and helped me stay up to date and consistent with my blog. A friend exposed me to two beautiful programs for Mac and PC namely Growly notes and One Note respectively. It was frustrating and the notepad or word documents were too much of a hassle. ![]() For a while I was not getting away with creating or writing out content. I have also been using these resources to aid my book writing. In fact its more like a resource that has helped me to write passionately 5 blog posts a week since January of this year. I have a secret weapon and it is not a nuclear weapon. ![]()
